Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Construction & Engineering and Power & Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 16.67% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.7000 at the close. Meanwhile, Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) added 16.00% or 4.00 points to end at 29.00 and Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) was up 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were People’s Merchant Finance PLC (CM:PMB), which fell 10.87% or 1.50 points to trade at 12.30 at the close. Asian Hotels and Properties PLC (CM:AHPL) declined 7.24% or 3.90 points to end at 50.00 and Colombo City Holdings PLC (CM:PHAR) was down 6.88% or 66.50 points to 900.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 99 to 60 and 51 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.48% or 0.27 to $56.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.70% or 0.43 to hit $61.65 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.71% or 9.00 to trade at $1257.10 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.20% to 205.590, while USD/LKR rose 0.02% to 153.370.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 93.67.
