Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Stores & Supplies, Footwear & Textile and Construction & Engineering sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to trade at 0.400 at the close. Meanwhile, Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) added 16.98% or 10.80 points to end at 74.40 and Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) was up 16.67% or 0.100 points to 0.700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which fell 20.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.4000 at the close. Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO) declined 14.43% or 10.00 points to end at 59.30 and Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL) was down 12.86% or 192.60 points to 1305.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 79 to 76 and 53 ended unchanged.
Shares in SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) fell to 5-year lows; down 20.00% or 0.1000 to 0.4000.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.57% or 0.42 to $74.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.22% or 0.95 to hit $79.02 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.51% or 6.40 to trade at $1253.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.36% to 211.060, while USD/LKR unchanged 0.00% to 159.290.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 94.08.
