Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare and Motors sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. Meanwhile, Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) added 20.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and Sinhaputhra Finance PLC (CM:SFL) was up 14.56% or 1.50 points to 11.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO), which fell 22.01% or 314.60 points to trade at 1115.00 at the close. Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) declined 15.48% or 239.90 points to end at 1310.10 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was down 14.29% or 0.1000 points to 0.6000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 87 to 84 and 59 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.28% or 0.14 to $49.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.57% or 0.31 to hit $54.51 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.45% or 6.05 to trade at $1345.05 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.01% to 199.590, while USD/LKR fell 0.01% to 152.660.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 91.83.
