Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Plantations, Trading and Power & Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. Meanwhile, Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) added 23.42% or 204.90 points to end at 1079.90 and Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL) was up 18.73% or 323.40 points to 2050.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE), which fell 14.00% or 70.00 points to trade at 430.00 at the close. Arpico Finance Company PLC (CM:ARPI) declined 8.76% or 14.90 points to end at 155.10 and CIC Holdings PLC (CM:CIC) was down 6.74% or 4.70 points to 65.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 108 to 69 and 51 ended unchanged.
Shares in Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE) fell to 3-years lows; falling 14.00% or 70.00 to 430.00. Shares in CIC Holdings PLC (CM:CIC) fell to 3-years lows; falling 6.74% or 4.70 to 65.00.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.46% or 0.21 to $46.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.51% or 0.26 to hit $50.99 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.15% or 1.99 to trade at $1312.11 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.49% to 196.715, while USD/LKR fell 0.03% to 152.790.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 93.11.
