Investing.com – Singapore stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Technology and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Singapore, the Singapore Straits Time added 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the Singapore Straits Time were Singapore Exchange Ltd (SIN:SGXL), which rose 1.98% or 0.16 points to trade at 8.23 at the close. Meanwhile, Olam International Limited (SIN:OLAM) added 1.13% or 0.020 points to end at 1.790 and Genting Singapore Plc (SIN:GENS) was up 1.12% or 0.010 points to 0.905 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SIA Engineering Co Ltd (SIN:SIAE), which fell 4.42% or 0.17 points to trade at 3.68 at the close. Golden Agri-Resources Ltd (SIN:GAGR) declined 4.41% or 0.015 points to end at 0.325 and Keppel Corporation Limited (SIN:KPLM) was down 1.38% or 0.11 points to 7.84.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Singapore Stock Exchange by 250 to 201 and 35 ended unchanged.
Shares in SIA Engineering Co Ltd (SIN:SIAE) fell to 3-years lows; down 4.42% or 0.17 to 3.68. Shares in Golden Agri-Resources Ltd (SIN:GAGR) fell to 5-year lows; down 4.41% or 0.015 to 0.325. Shares in Keppel Corporation Limited (SIN:KPLM) fell to 3-years lows; down 1.38% or 0.11 to 7.84.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.49% or 0.23 to $47.74 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.51% or 0.27 to hit $53.03 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.05% or 0.50 to trade at $1096.20 a troy ounce.
USD/SGD was up 0.07% to 1.3644, while EUR/SGD rose 0.15% to 1.5102.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 96.69.
