Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Chemicals and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 2.38%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which fell 0.53% or 0.02 points to trade at 3.39 at the close. Meanwhile, Benefit Systems SA (WA:BFT) fell 0.58% or 15.00 points to end at 2,580.00 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was down 1.09% or 0.14 points to 12.28 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which fell 7.49% or 0.75 points to trade at 9.26 at the close. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) declined 4.33% or 1.20 points to end at 26.50 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was down 4.24% or 0.84 points to 18.96.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 334 to 167 and 106 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) fell to 52-week lows; losing 7.49% or 0.75 to 9.26.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.04% or 0.03 to $70.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.09% or 0.07 to hit $74.15 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.67% or 18.00 to trade at $2,709.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.51% to 4.32, while USD/PLN rose 0.71% to 3.98.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 103.51.
