Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Energy, Chemicals and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 2.25% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER), which rose 0.28% or 0.15 points to trade at 52.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 0.19% or 0.01 points to end at 5.33 and ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to 120.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Boryszew SA (WA:BORY), which fell 5.98% or 0.32 points to trade at 5.03 at the close. Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) declined 5.52% or 15.00 points to end at 256.55 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) was down 5.20% or 0.14 points to 2.55.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 331 to 189 and 160 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.75% or 0.36 to $47.83 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.92% or 0.45 to hit $48.48 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.71% or 21.85 to trade at $1252.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.24% to 4.4099, while USD/PLN rose 0.33% to 3.9354.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 95.27.
