Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Construction and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 1.86%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which rose 4.43% or 0.49 points to trade at 11.54 at the close. Meanwhile, PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) added 0.84% or 0.06 points to end at 7.41 and Allegro (WA:ALEP) was up 0.05% or 0.02 points to 37.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH), which fell 5.43% or 7.55 points to trade at 131.40 at the close. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) declined 3.35% or 0.62 points to end at 17.87 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) was down 3.18% or 0.84 points to 25.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 325 to 173 and 114 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 3.85% or 2.83 to $70.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 4.32% or 3.35 to hit $74.17 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.53% or 13.40 to trade at $2,514.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.29% to 4.28, while USD/PLN rose 0.59% to 3.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 101.79.
