Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 1.67%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 6.04% or 2.50 points to trade at 43.86 at the close. Meanwhile, Enea SA (WA:ENAE) added 0.18% or 0.02 points to end at 11.28 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was up 0.08% or 0.15 points to 179.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Play Communications SA (WA:PLY), which fell 4.32% or 0.94 points to trade at 20.80 at the close. Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) declined 3.32% or 0.31 points to end at 9.04 and Polskie Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) was down 3.28% or 0.25 points to 7.37.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 299 to 186 and 175 ended unchanged.
Shares in Enea SA (WA:ENAE) rose to 52-week highs; rising 0.18% or 0.02 to 11.28.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 3.76% or 2.03 to $51.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 2.97% or 1.86 to hit $60.83 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.03% or 0.45 to trade at $1314.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.31% to 4.3093, while USD/PLN rose 0.35% to 3.7949.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 96.238.
