Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Information Technology, Basic Materials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 1.41%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 8.36% or 2.22 points to trade at 28.77 at the close. Meanwhile, X Trade Brokers Dom Maklerski SA (WA:XTB) added 2.59% or 1.60 points to end at 63.40 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was up 1.49% or 2.50 points to 170.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Text SA (WA:TXTP), which fell 15.80% or 11.20 points to trade at 59.70 at the close. Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) declined 3.04% or 2.76 points to end at 88.14 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was down 2.75% or 4.50 points to 158.85.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 330 to 178 and 115 ended unchanged.
Shares in Text SA (WA:TXTP) fell to 3-years lows; losing 15.80% or 11.20 to 59.70.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 3.97% or 2.78 to $72.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 3.72% or 2.75 to hit $76.65 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.03% or 0.90 to trade at $2,670.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.42% to 4.31, while USD/PLN rose 0.68% to 3.91.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 101.79.
