Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Media and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 1.41% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which rose 4.40% or 0.56 points to trade at 13.28 at the close. Meanwhile, Orange Polska SA (WA:OPL) added 2.78% or 0.22 points to end at 8.05 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) was up 1.85% or 0.07 points to 3.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were mBank SA (WA:MBK), which fell 4.06% or 24.60 points to trade at 582.00 at the close. Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) declined 3.96% or 3.68 points to end at 89.26 and Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) was down 3.82% or 0.34 points to 8.56.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 378 to 145 and 93 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 3.72% or 2.84 to $73.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 3.32% or 2.64 to hit $76.88 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.49% or 12.20 to trade at $2,468.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.19% to 4.29, while USD/PLN fell 1.40% to 3.93.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.21% at 102.94.
