Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Energy, Basic Materials and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 1.33%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 6.06% or 1.60 points to trade at 28.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) added 1.82% or 0.72 points to end at 40.22 and ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) was up 1.68% or 3.00 points to 182.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE), which fell 7.22% or 0.88 points to trade at 11.31 at the close. Kruk SA (WA:KRU) declined 6.48% or 11.50 points to end at 166.00 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) was down 4.19% or 0.090 points to 2.060.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 383 to 180 and 56 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kruk SA (WA:KRU) fell to 52-week lows; losing 6.48% or 11.50 to 166.00.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 5.10% or 2.92 to $54.28 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 5.09% or 3.40 to hit $63.39 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.15% or 1.80 to trade at $1223.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.58% to 4.3059, while USD/PLN rose 0.01% to 3.7814.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.49% at 96.54.
