Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 1.28%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which rose 2.75% or 1.55 points to trade at 57.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) added 1.21% or 1.00 points to end at 83.80 and Synthos SA (WA:SNS) was up 1.13% or 0.060 points to 5.360 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which fell 3.63% or 2.65 points to trade at 70.32 at the close. Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) declined 3.61% or 2.02 points to end at 53.86 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was down 3.01% or 0.73 points to 23.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 355 to 215 and 161 ended unchanged.
Shares in Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.21% or 1.00 to 83.80.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 1.21% or 0.59 to $48.32 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.99% or 0.51 to hit $51.11 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.90% or 11.15 to trade at $1245.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.33% to 4.2776, while USD/PLN fell 0.31% to 3.9552.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.67% at 99.49.
