Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 1.18% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which rose 7.49% or 3.20 points to trade at 45.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) added 4.97% or 0.42 points to end at 8.87 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) was up 4.69% or 0.46 points to 10.26 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH), which fell 3.65% or 3.23 points to trade at 85.22 at the close. Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) declined 3.37% or 0.28 points to end at 8.02 and mBank SA (WA:MBK) was down 3.13% or 13.60 points to 421.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 279 to 179 and 184 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 2.40% or 1.60 to $68.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 2.66% or 2.01 to hit $77.50 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.26% or 3.40 to trade at $1302.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.60% to 4.3085, while USD/PLN fell 1.63% to 3.6951.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.79% at 94.06.
