Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Energy, Food and Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 1.14%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which rose 4.19% or 4.12 points to trade at 102.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) added 0.54% or 0.38 points to end at 70.68 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) was up 0.35% or 0.16 points to 45.42 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which fell 6.35% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.770 at the close. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) declined 5.54% or 0.47 points to end at 8.02 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) was down 5.22% or 0.47 points to 8.54.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 317 to 147 and 166 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) fell to all time lows; falling 6.35% or 0.120 to 1.770. Shares in Energa SA (WA:ENGP) fell to 52-week lows; falling 5.54% or 0.47 to 8.02. Shares in PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) fell to all time lows; falling 5.22% or 0.47 to 8.54.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.25% or 0.87 to $69.00 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.93% or 0.73 to hit $77.44 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.28% or 3.30 to trade at $1202.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.56% to 4.3339, while USD/PLN rose 0.18% to 3.7279.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 95.11.
