Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Energy, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 1.06%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which rose 2.78% or 1.94 points to trade at 71.80 at the close. Meanwhile, PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP) added 2.13% or 1.20 points to end at 57.50 and Kruk SA (WA:KRU) was up 1.34% or 3.95 points to 299.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which fell 4.44% or 4.35 points to trade at 93.52 at the close. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) declined 4.40% or 0.160 points to end at 3.480 and Synthos SA (WA:SNS) was down 4.15% or 0.210 points to 4.850.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 316 to 187 and 169 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.08% or 0.04 to $50.38 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.09% or 0.05 to hit $55.95 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.21% or 2.73 to trade at $1275.17 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.42% to 4.2972, while USD/PLN fell 0.57% to 3.6540.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 93.32.
