Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Chemicals, Energy and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 1.06%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which rose 1.99% or 3.70 points to trade at 189.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 1.83% or 1.46 points to end at 81.25 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was up 1.12% or 0.21 points to 19.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which fell 4.80% or 0.16 points to trade at 3.17 at the close. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) declined 4.64% or 4.35 points to end at 89.50 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) was down 3.99% or 0.64 points to 15.41.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 355 to 202 and 122 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) fell to all time lows; losing 4.80% or 0.16 to 3.17. Shares in PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.99% or 0.64 to 15.41.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.28% or 0.12 to $42.99 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.17% or 0.09 to hit $49.10 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.47% or 5.20 to trade at $1117.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.50% to 4.1634, while USD/PLN fell 0.15% to 3.7604.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.25% at 96.85.
