Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Energy, Basic Materials and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 1.01%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP), which rose 0.97% or 1.90 points to trade at 196.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) added 0.85% or 0.54 points to end at 64.25 and CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR) was up 0.76% or 0.64 points to 84.84 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which fell 7.48% or 0.98 points to trade at 12.12 at the close. Enea SA (WA:ENAE) declined 5.41% or 0.85 points to end at 14.85 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) was down 3.52% or 0.33 points to 9.05.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 265 to 221 and 191 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.69% or 0.34 to $49.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.28% or 0.15 to hit $52.55 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.83% or 10.65 to trade at $1289.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.37% to 4.2828, while USD/PLN rose 0.44% to 3.6446.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 93.41.
