Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.99%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 2.52% or 1.80 points to trade at 73.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) added 1.26% or 0.12 points to end at 9.62 and Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) was up 1.22% or 4.35 points to 361.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which fell 4.25% or 5.36 points to trade at 120.61 at the close. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) declined 4.14% or 0.57 points to end at 13.20 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) was down 3.59% or 0.48 points to 12.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 274 to 227 and 171 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.10% or 0.05 to $50.64 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $56.30 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.41% or 18.57 to trade at $1297.83 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.02% to 4.2763, while USD/PLN fell 0.41% to 3.5812.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 91.97.
