Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Chemicals and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.98%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which rose 2.78% or 1.58 points to trade at 58.46 at the close. Meanwhile, Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) added 2.50% or 1.58 points to end at 64.72 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) was up 2.28% or 0.06 points to 2.69 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM), which fell 5.09% or 3.92 points to trade at 73.08 at the close. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) declined 4.13% or 2.18 points to end at 50.59 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was down 3.68% or 2.41 points to 63.07.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 278 to 217 and 177 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 3.11% or 1.18 to $36.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 2.38% or 0.97 to hit $39.87 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.23% or 2.90 to trade at $1266.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.25% to 4.3216, while USD/PLN fell 0.36% to 3.9180.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 97.02.
