Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Telecoms and Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.82%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 4.80% or 4.04 points to trade at 88.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) added 3.61% or 2.06 points to end at 59.06 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was up 3.42% or 2.89 points to 87.31 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP), which fell 4.34% or 0.37 points to trade at 8.16 at the close. CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR) declined 4.14% or 6.00 points to end at 139.00 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was down 2.95% or 8.20 points to 270.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 258 to 204 and 179 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.28% or 0.20 to $71.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.15% or 0.91 to hit $80.19 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.15% or 1.90 to trade at $1289.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.55% to 4.2961, while USD/PLN rose 0.61% to 3.6406.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 93.34.
