Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Energy, Media and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.77%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 1.71% or 1.55 points to trade at 92.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) added 0.34% or 0.21 points to end at 62.22 and OrangePL (WA:OPL) was up 0.34% or 0.02 points to 5.82 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were mBank SA (WA:MBK), which fell 3.13% or 13.90 points to trade at 430.10 at the close. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) declined 2.60% or 0.100 points to end at 3.750 and Kruk SA (WA:KRU) was down 2.41% or 8.20 points to 331.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 296 to 195 and 181 ended unchanged.
Shares in Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 1.71% or 1.55 to 92.00.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.12% or 0.06 to $49.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.36% or 0.19 to hit $52.33 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.25% or 15.73 to trade at $1278.33 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.09% to 4.2691, while USD/PLN rose 0.17% to 3.6352.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 93.50.
