Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Media, Developers and Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.69% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which rose 10.12% or 1.18 points to trade at 12.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 2.11% or 0.37 points to end at 17.87 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was up 1.17% or 0.74 points to 63.84 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dino Polska SA (WA:DNP), which fell 9.18% or 35.50 points to trade at 351.40 at the close. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) declined 8.06% or 1.00 points to end at 11.40 and Grupa KĘTY SA (WA:KTY) was down 2.75% or 23.50 points to 831.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 355 to 171 and 102 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) fell to 52-week lows; losing 8.06% or 1.00 to 11.40.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.43% or 0.33 to $77.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.09% or 0.07 to hit $81.78 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 2.06% or 49.80 to trade at $2,365.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.13% to 4.29, while USD/PLN fell 0.32% to 3.95.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 104.01.
