Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Banking and Food sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.57%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which rose 6.65% or 3.78 points to trade at 60.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 3.92% or 3.47 points to end at 91.97 and ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) was up 2.35% or 2.80 points to 122.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which fell 4.16% or 325.00 points to trade at 7495.00 at the close. Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) declined 3.13% or 2.48 points to end at 76.72 and OrangePL (WA:OPL) was down 2.60% or 0.19 points to 7.11.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 308 to 232 and 112 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.33% or 0.15 to $44.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.86% or 0.41 to hit $47.95 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.04% or 0.40 to trade at $1114.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.23% to 4.2558, while USD/PLN fell 0.02% to 3.7988.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.29% at 96.14.
