Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.56%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which rose 3.45% or 2.00 points to trade at 60.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Enea SA (WA:ENAE) added 2.75% or 0.33 points to end at 12.34 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) was up 1.67% or 0.20 points to 12.16 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which fell 4.76% or 1.22 points to trade at 24.40 at the close. Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) declined 2.85% or 3.64 points to end at 124.08 and Powszechna Kasa Oszczednosci Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) was down 2.77% or 1.16 points to 40.67.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 301 to 203 and 168 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 2.43% or 1.40 to $56.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 2.08% or 1.31 to hit $61.55 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.14% or 1.80 to trade at $1266.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.09% to 4.2123, while USD/PLN rose 0.43% to 3.5739.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 93.60.
