Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Chemicals and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.56%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Kruk SA (WA:KRU), which rose 5.83% or 14.00 points to trade at 254.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) added 2.05% or 0.20 points to end at 9.95 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) was up 1.50% or 0.09 points to 6.11 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which fell 2.64% or 1.84 points to trade at 67.76 at the close. Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) declined 1.89% or 0.80 points to end at 41.42 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was down 1.29% or 1.43 points to 109.75.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 284 to 246 and 169 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.22% or 0.13 to $58.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.12% or 0.08 to hit $64.98 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.62% or 7.90 to trade at $1278.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.13% to 4.1912, while USD/PLN rose 0.05% to 3.5364.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 92.94.
