Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Energy, Basic Materials and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which rose 2.13% or 176.90 points to trade at 8499.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) added 1.73% or 0.17 points to end at 9.97 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) was up 1.60% or 1.65 points to 105.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kruk SA (WA:KRU), which fell 6.46% or 21.90 points to trade at 317.10 at the close. PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) declined 3.70% or 0.53 points to end at 13.81 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was down 3.12% or 0.43 points to 13.36.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 273 to 209 and 190 ended unchanged.
Shares in Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 1.73% or 0.17 to 9.97.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.19% or 0.58 to $49.24 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.26% or 0.67 to hit $54.05 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.01% or 0.09 to trade at $1344.59 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.46% to 4.2517, while USD/PLN rose 0.26% to 3.5614.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 92.02.
