Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Basic Materials and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Boryszew SA (WA:BORY), which rose 1.66% or 0.08 points to trade at 4.89 at the close. Meanwhile, OrangePL (WA:OPL) added 1.61% or 0.10 points to end at 6.33 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) was up 1.48% or 0.04 points to 2.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW), which fell 2.55% or 2.13 points to trade at 81.37 at the close. Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) declined 2.54% or 1.72 points to end at 66.10 and ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) was down 2.04% or 2.50 points to 119.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 263 to 232 and 189 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 2.85% or 1.06 to $36.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 2.68% or 1.06 to hit $38.47 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 1.09% or 13.60 to trade at $1231.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.36% to 4.2929, while USD/PLN rose 0.23% to 3.8636.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 96.63.
