Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER), which rose 4.13% or 2.20 points to trade at 55.50 at the close. Meanwhile, LPP SA (WA:LPPP) added 1.59% or 125.00 points to end at 7975.00 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was up 1.54% or 0.14 points to 9.26 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which fell 5.08% or 3.88 points to trade at 72.56 at the close. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) declined 3.39% or 0.22 points to end at 6.27 and Play Communications SA (WA:PLY) was down 2.99% or 0.51 points to 16.54.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 295 to 261 and 63 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) rose to 52-week highs; rising 4.13% or 2.20 to 55.50.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 6.68% or 3.65 to $50.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 6.09% or 3.81 to hit $58.79 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.38% or 4.70 to trade at $1223.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.07% to 4.2916, while USD/PLN rose 0.55% to 3.7868.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 96.838.
