Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Chemicals and Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.44%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which rose 3.18% or 1.57 points to trade at 50.97 at the close. Meanwhile, Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) added 3.11% or 1.27 points to end at 42.07 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was up 3.08% or 1.30 points to 43.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which fell 4.50% or 7.50 points to trade at 159.00 at the close. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) declined 4.01% or 0.27 points to end at 6.46 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) was down 2.15% or 0.30 points to 13.64.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 313 to 243 and 93 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.08% or 1.30 to 43.50.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 4.21% or 1.91 to $43.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 3.04% or 1.50 to hit $48.05 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.43% or 4.90 to trade at $1134.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.37% to 4.2351, while USD/PLN rose 0.23% to 3.7659.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.42% at 95.80.
