Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Energy, Telecoms and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which rose 2.47% or 1.10 points to trade at 45.72 at the close. Meanwhile, Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 1.94% or 0.12 points to end at 6.32 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was up 1.29% or 1.40 points to 109.53 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were OrangePL (WA:OPL), which fell 5.01% or 0.29 points to trade at 5.50 at the close. Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) declined 4.46% or 2.56 points to end at 54.80 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) was down 3.54% or 0.39 points to 10.62.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 302 to 168 and 190 ended unchanged.
Shares in PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.54% or 0.39 to 10.62.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.29% or 0.18 to $61.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $65.25 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1330.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.58% to 4.1729, while USD/PLN rose 0.74% to 3.3881.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 89.82.
