Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Food and Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which rose 4.12% or 2.91 points to trade at 73.51 at the close. Meanwhile, LPP SA (WA:LPPP) added 2.88% or 220.40 points to end at 7880.00 and OrangePL (WA:OPL) was up 1.83% or 0.13 points to 7.23 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH), which fell 4.84% or 3.90 points to trade at 76.60 at the close. Enea SA (WA:ENAE) declined 3.77% or 0.52 points to end at 13.27 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) was down 3.34% or 0.22 points to 6.37.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 323 to 184 and 120 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.92% or 0.43 to $46.32 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.17% or 0.59 to hit $50.09 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.35% or 3.90 to trade at $1120.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.13% to 4.2206, while USD/PLN rose 0.10% to 3.7934.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 96.39.
