Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Energy, Media and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Kruk SA (WA:KRU), which rose 4.74% or 10.80 points to trade at 238.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) added 3.92% or 2.00 points to end at 53.00 and Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) was up 3.08% or 13.20 points to 442.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE), which fell 4.70% or 0.60 points to trade at 12.16 at the close. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) declined 3.94% or 0.50 points to end at 12.19 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was down 3.38% or 10.00 points to 286.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 247 to 223 and 200 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) rose to all time highs; up 3.08% or 13.20 to 442.00.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.60% or 0.39 to $64.86 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.09% or 0.06 to hit $69.90 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.18% or 15.80 to trade at $1352.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.36% to 4.1513, while USD/PLN fell 1.11% to 3.3500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.86% at 89.11.
