Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Construction and Food sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which rose 7.48% or 1.38 points to trade at 19.84 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) added 1.70% or 4.85 points to end at 289.80 and PKO Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) was up 1.66% or 0.46 points to 28.14 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which fell 6.45% or 0.69 points to trade at 10.00 at the close. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 6.12% or 11.05 points to end at 169.50 and Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) was down 4.99% or 1.76 points to 33.49.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 308 to 241 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) fell to all time lows; losing 6.45% or 0.69 to 10.00. Shares in Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) fell to all time lows; losing 4.99% or 1.76 to 33.49.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.66% or 0.26 to $39.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.17% or 0.07 to hit $43.28 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.34% or 15.30 to trade at $1123.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.45% to 4.2435, while USD/PLN rose 0.80% to 3.7299.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.03% at 94.88.
