Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Information Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 2.69%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 9.64% or 2.70 points to trade at 30.70 at the close. Meanwhile, CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR) added 6.59% or 8.50 points to end at 137.50 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was up 6.31% or 1.34 points to 22.58 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which fell 3.09% or 1.60 points to trade at 50.10 at the close. ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) declined 1.10% or 2.00 points to end at 180.00 and Play Communications SA (WA:PLY) was down 0.89% or 0.15 points to 16.71.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 306 to 294 and 55 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.09% or 1.60 to 50.10.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 3.99% or 2.13 to $55.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 2.64% or 1.65 to hit $64.18 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.44% or 5.40 to trade at $1226.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.24% to 4.3014, while USD/PLN fell 0.37% to 3.7780.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 96.632.
