Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Media, Oil & Gas and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 1.68%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which rose 4.44% or 2.42 points to trade at 56.92 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 4.11% or 1.70 points to end at 43.10 and Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) was up 3.41% or 1.28 points to 38.86 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which fell 3.54% or 7.60 points to trade at 207.00 at the close. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) declined 2.02% or 175.00 points to end at 8485.00 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) was down 1.71% or 0.16 points to 9.21.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 267 to 164 and 184 ended unchanged.
Shares in CCC SA (WA:CCCP) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.54% or 7.60 to 207.00.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.67% or 0.49 to $73.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.84% or 1.43 to hit $79.04 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.26% or 3.30 to trade at $1254.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.26% to 4.3753, while USD/PLN fell 0.67% to 3.7466.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.75% at 94.29.
