Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Information Technology and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.66%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which rose 5.60% or 480.00 points to trade at 9050.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) added 3.98% or 2.60 points to end at 68.00 and Powszechna Kasa Oszczednosci Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) was up 3.89% or 1.43 points to 38.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which fell 4.17% or 8.50 points to trade at 195.50 at the close. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) declined 2.98% or 0.65 points to end at 21.15 and Kruk SA (WA:KRU) was down 2.00% or 3.90 points to 191.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 238 to 195 and 158 ended unchanged.
Shares in CCC SA (WA:CCCP) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.17% or 8.50 to 195.50. Shares in Kruk SA (WA:KRU) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.00% or 3.90 to 191.10.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.14% or 0.10 to $73.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.13% or 0.10 to hit $77.20 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.19% or 14.80 to trade at $1256.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.09% to 4.3960, while USD/PLN fell 0.14% to 3.7748.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 94.42.
