Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Media and Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 1.62%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 5.34% or 1.48 points to trade at 29.18 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) added 3.73% or 0.35 points to end at 9.60 and Powszechna Kasa Oszczednosci Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) was up 3.60% or 2.12 points to 61.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH), which fell 2.10% or 3.05 points to trade at 142.25 at the close. Grupa KĘTY SA (WA:KTY) declined 0.12% or 1.00 points to end at 832.50 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) was 0.00% or 0.00 points to 3.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 302 to 202 and 95 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.01% or 0.01 to $81.43 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $85.09 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.38% or 9.40 to trade at $2,469.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was unchanged 0.03% to 4.29, while USD/PLN rose 0.24% to 3.93.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 103.75.
