Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Construction, Banking and Information Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.60%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Kruk SA (WA:KRU), which rose 4.87% or 21.20 points to trade at 456.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) added 4.63% or 4.18 points to end at 94.50 and Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) was up 3.64% or 5.60 points to 159.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which fell 1.61% or 0.16 points to trade at 9.78 at the close. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) declined 1.26% or 0.28 points to end at 21.94 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was down 0.37% or 0.50 points to 134.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 247 to 240 and 103 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.28% or 0.22 to $78.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.37% or 0.30 to hit $82.22 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.18% or 27.35 to trade at $2,353.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.23% to 4.33, while USD/PLN fell 1.19% to 3.99.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.23% at 103.90.
