Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.59%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW), which rose 7.63% or 25.00 points to trade at 352.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) added 7.56% or 0.58 points to end at 8.25 and OrangePL (WA:OPL) was up 3.09% or 0.14 points to 4.67 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which fell 1.92% or 0.19 points to trade at 9.70 at the close. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) declined 1.23% or 0.28 points to end at 22.42 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) was down 1.19% or 0.11 points to 9.13.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 214 to 205 and 165 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.49% or 0.97 to $65.87 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.11% or 0.08 to hit $75.00 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.20% or 2.60 to trade at $1276.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.16% to 4.3195, while USD/PLN rose 0.16% to 3.7268.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 94.65.
