Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 1.57%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH), which rose 4.57% or 5.95 points to trade at 136.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Dino Polska SA (WA:DNP) added 3.96% or 13.40 points to end at 352.00 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was up 3.62% or 4.40 points to 126.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which fell 1.29% or 0.35 points to trade at 26.68 at the close. Kruk SA (WA:KRU) declined 1.03% or 4.60 points to end at 443.40 and Pepco Group Nv (WA:PCOP) was down 0.88% or 0.17 points to 19.17.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 255 to 250 and 122 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 3.60% or 2.69 to $77.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 3.14% or 2.45 to hit $80.52 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.69% or 17.00 to trade at $2,468.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was unchanged 0.01% to 4.29, while USD/PLN unchanged 0.11% to 3.96.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 103.87.
