Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Energy, Banking and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 1.13%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which rose 6.67% or 0.50 points to trade at 8.00 at the close. Meanwhile, PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) added 5.52% or 0.49 points to end at 9.36 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) was up 5.39% or 0.090 points to 1.760 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which fell 2.91% or 2.22 points to trade at 74.18 at the close. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) declined 1.85% or 1.86 points to end at 98.47 and Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) was down 1.83% or 0.85 points to 45.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 219 to 210 and 185 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.91% or 0.63 to $70.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $79.06 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.45% or 5.40 to trade at $1208.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.06% to 4.2866, while USD/PLN fell 0.21% to 3.6686.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 94.08.
