Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food, Basic Materials and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 1.09%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which rose 5.14% or 720.00 points to trade at 14,720.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 3.53% or 0.67 points to end at 19.67 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was up 2.97% or 0.36 points to 12.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which fell 1.17% or 0.13 points to trade at 10.94 at the close. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) declined 0.95% or 0.49 points to end at 51.23 and Grupa KĘTY SA (WA:KTY) was down 0.56% or 4.00 points to 710.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 275 to 234 and 95 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.19% or 0.13 to $69.37 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $73.36 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.83% or 21.80 to trade at $2,652.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.15% to 4.34, while USD/PLN rose 0.88% to 4.12.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.60% at 106.79.
