Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Chemicals, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.04%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Play Communications SA (WA:PLY), which rose 7.11% or 1.11 points to trade at 16.73 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 5.60% or 1.40 points to end at 26.40 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) was up 4.50% or 0.45 points to 10.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which fell 4.88% or 0.88 points to trade at 17.15 at the close. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) declined 2.26% or 1.20 points to end at 52.00 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was down 1.90% or 0.42 points to 21.68.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 307 to 253 and 74 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) fell to 5-year lows; falling 4.88% or 0.88 to 17.15.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.14% or 0.08 to $56.38 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.00% or 0.67 to hit $66.09 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.14% or 1.70 to trade at $1222.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.41% to 4.3337, while USD/PLN rose 0.21% to 3.7873.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 96.14.
