Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Energy and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.99%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Allegro (WA:ALEP), which rose 2.35% or 0.84 points to trade at 36.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) added 1.85% or 1.50 points to end at 82.50 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) was up 1.81% or 0.13 points to 7.31 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which fell 4.00% or 1.17 points to trade at 28.08 at the close. Benefit Systems SA (WA:BFT) declined 3.05% or 80.00 points to end at 2,540.00 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was down 2.53% or 0.50 points to 19.30.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 268 to 238 and 104 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) fell to 3-years lows; down 2.53% or 0.50 to 19.30.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.60% or 0.49 to $82.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.51% or 0.43 to hit $85.51 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.97% or 46.90 to trade at $2,426.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was unchanged 0.04% to 4.26, while USD/PLN fell 0.39% to 3.92.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.61% at 104.10.
