Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Energy and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.97%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP), which rose 4.55% or 2.50 points to trade at 57.50 at the close. Meanwhile, KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) added 3.31% or 3.75 points to end at 117.15 and Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) was up 2.35% or 1.06 points to 46.19 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which fell 2.47% or 7.00 points to trade at 276.00 at the close. Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) declined 1.33% or 0.35 points to end at 25.95 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) was down 1.26% or 0.12 points to 9.43.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 271 to 215 and 191 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.17% or 0.09 to $51.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.61% or 0.35 to hit $56.81 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.14% or 1.78 to trade at $1286.92 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.05% to 4.3119, while USD/PLN fell 0.22% to 3.6522.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 93.01.
