Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Media and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.89%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which rose 4.76% or 0.110 points to trade at 2.420 at the close. Meanwhile, Enea SA (WA:ENAE) added 2.95% or 0.29 points to end at 10.12 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) was up 2.82% or 0.17 points to 6.19 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which fell 4.41% or 2.40 points to trade at 52.00 at the close. OrangePL (WA:OPL) declined 3.72% or 0.20 points to end at 5.18 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was down 3.25% or 8.60 points to 255.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 244 to 216 and 185 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.41% or 2.40 to 52.00.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.24% or 0.16 to $67.89 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.42% or 0.31 to hit $74.31 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.36% or 4.80 to trade at $1318.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.03% to 4.2284, while USD/PLN rose 0.39% to 3.4898.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 91.29.
