Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Basic Materials and Information Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.87%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Benefit Systems SA (WA:BFT), which rose 3.79% or 100.00 points to trade at 2,740.00 at the close. Meanwhile, CCC SA (WA:CCCP) added 3.78% or 4.40 points to end at 120.80 and Text SA (WA:TXTP) was up 3.03% or 2.60 points to 88.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which fell 1.39% or 0.28 points to trade at 19.92 at the close. Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) declined 1.26% or 1.05 points to end at 82.10 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) was down 0.99% or 0.30 points to 30.02.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 255 to 254 and 104 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.87% or 0.72 to $82.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.72% or 0.62 to hit $85.92 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.99% or 23.70 to trade at $2,374.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.30% to 4.27, while USD/PLN fell 0.27% to 3.94.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 104.60.
