Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.85%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH), which rose 4.17% or 4.80 points to trade at 119.88 at the close. Meanwhile, Synthos SA (WA:SNS) added 4.12% or 0.200 points to end at 5.050 and PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP) was up 3.83% or 2.20 points to 59.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which fell 3.87% or 1.49 points to trade at 37.00 at the close. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 2.99% or 8.80 points to end at 285.05 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) was down 1.50% or 0.70 points to 45.99.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 257 to 234 and 164 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.00% or 1.00 to $50.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 2.44% or 1.36 to hit $57.16 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.11% or 1.39 to trade at $1275.41 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.08% to 4.3006, while USD/PLN rose 0.53% to 3.6737.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 93.75.
