Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.83%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW), which rose 3.12% or 11.15 points to trade at 368.05 at the close. Meanwhile, KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) added 2.94% or 3.58 points to end at 125.23 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) was up 2.91% or 2.07 points to 73.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which fell 2.19% or 2.82 points to trade at 126.03 at the close. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 1.13% or 3.00 points to end at 263.00 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) was down 0.85% or 0.40 points to 46.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 300 to 195 and 164 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 2.61% or 1.45 to $57.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 2.82% or 1.75 to hit $63.82 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.96% or 12.21 to trade at $1281.41 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.09% to 4.2409, while USD/PLN fell 0.02% to 3.6559.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 94.73.
